IMKAN praises progress at Pixel real estate project in Abu Dhabi
IMKAN, a leading real estate developer in the UAE, praised its construction partners for the “great progress” achieved in the seven-tower mixed-use Pixel project. The praise came as a sub-contractor completed all the necessary concrete works on time.
The first phase of the project on Saadiyat Island is on track for completion in Q4 2020, after the Dutch company specializing in geotechnical engineering completed all 938 secant piles of temporary shoring. Permanent piling works are set to be done by February 2019.
Excavation work is still ongoing to a depth of 5-metres to accommodate two basements covering approximately 22,000-sq. metres each.
IMKAN stated that a tender will be granted to construct the main facilities at Makers District in Q1 2019 with work expected to be in Q4 the following year.
Consisting of co-working spaces, F&B outlets, retail shops, water attractions, and residential apartments, Pixel is considered the first phase of Makers District, which the developer believes will become the “new heart” of Abu Dhabi.
Walid El-Hindi, Chief Executive Officer of IMKAN, said: “We are truly proud of the progress we are making on this project as we continue to work with the best in the industry. At IMKAN, we are committed to achieving timely milestones across our portfolio and Pixel is no exception.”
Richard Larmer, Senior Development Director of IMKAN, commented: “I have no doubt that Pixel will help raise the bar for construction in the capital once it is complete.”
As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Capital Group, IMKAN boasts a strong portfolio of 26 projects in six countries: Egypt, Montenegro, Morocco, Seychelles, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates.
